Unlocking: Forward with Renewed Strength

Our Accomplishments in Spring 2020

Support of foresighted clients: The coronavirus pandemic did not prevent us from being entrusted with various search mandates. We were indeed surprised at first, but quickly realised that this was the result of our clients’ farsightedness, confidence and ability to dare. We were asked to find the right personnel for demanding positions for a start in three to six months. They obviously assumed that things would get back to normal within a few months. Therefore, most of them kept to their plans and upheld their budget as regards staffing specialist and executive positions.

Assistance to candidates in highly challenging times: Numerous valuable candidates were under great pressure during lockdown: between telework and home-schooling, they did not have sufficient time to react to job advertisements. As a result, companies increasingly called upon our expertise to support them in their recruiting process. We contributed to identify and encourage qualified candidates and to motivate them to consider a possible change of job.

Land reclamation: Successful implementation of new processes: Interviews were mostly carried out online. We used several softwares, tried new ones and were pleased to see that it all went smoothly at every level. As for face-to-face interviews, we implemented all necessary safety measures: with only two to three people in a spacious meeting room, complying with social distancing rules was actually easy.

Support to discrete shifts: Some companies seized the opportunity to carry out discreet internal changes or shifts. We searched for suitable candidates to fill the resulting vacancies, thus working behind the scene to help ensure adequate personnel resources.

Separate wheat from chaff: Certain companies received an increased number of applications of uneven quality. We were asked to undertake the preselection and to process the adequate applications.

Key supportive role: As recruiters, this time of global uncertainty presented us with a specific challenge: we had to convince highly-qualified candidates to engage in the application process. Many had to manage complicated situations or feared the risk posed by changing jobs in such a critical period. They often worked from home and were difficult to reach. We had to reach out to them, to instill courage and to trigger their enthusiasm for new opportunities.
