Open up the hidden job market for yourself - Let yourself be approached!

Again, I hear the stories of the hidden job market. Job consultants think this is the absolute gold standard. "Activate your network of relationships" they say, doors will open that you have never thought off.
And: I have to go one better here: Let yourself be approached! You'll be amazed at the jobs you'll be put on the radar for.

We consultants are usually closely briefed by our clients. Often these are "difficult to fill vacancies". It is not enough to address all potential candidates with the same job title. We think in terms of competencies, target skills and abilities. Therefore, in an active sourcing approach, we also target profiles that do not match 100% in a first approach. We also suspect knowledge behind the visible experience that will help our clients to master the tasks at hand and to achieve the set goals.

I often approach people who would not have applied for these tasks on their own. There are numerous reasons why I, as a consulting agency, am part of the hidden job market:

  • My client does not want or cannot yet publish the job. I have an exclusive search assignment. Only candidates I come into contact with find out about the vacancy.
  • I had contact with people in a different context and I think that they will make an important contribution to my client's company with their work style and approach.
  • The individuals had set their search focus differently and had not yet considered the opportunity offered.
  • I make likes and try options that can't be poured into a job posting.
  • The ad text has not been able to mobilize the target group.

Recruiters are also part of the hidden job market! Because the recruiter sees opportunities for you that you haven't even thought of yet or that wouldn't have been on your radar. Therefore, stay curious and listen when proposals are made to you!
